Cologne is very compact. The station right next to the Cathedral is called Cologne Hauptbahnhof. If flying into German just for Colone probably the closest international airport is Frankfurt. From Cologne Hauptbahnhof just walk to see everything. Of course, other forms of transport exist but why.
